Pagadian  City  which  is  composed  of  thirteen  (13) urban barangays and forty-one (41) rural barangays. The urban population is  estimated to be 72,986or  58%  of  the  total  population  while  the rural areas has  a  total  population of  52,196  or 42%.  Overall Pagadian City has  total  population  of 125,182 for calendar year 1995, which  contributed about 10.28% of  the  population of the Province of Zamboanga del Sur including the  City of Zamboanga. Given the city’s total land area of 33,380 hectares or 333.80   square   kilometers,   population density  of Pagadian City  is 3.75  persons   per  hectare  or 375 persons per square kilometer.
