1)      Conduct the investi­gation and prosecu­tion, if evidence warrant of all crimes, misdemeanors and violation of laws and City Ordinances triable in the Re­gional Trial Courts of Zamboanga del Sur and Municipal trial Courts of Pagadian City;

2)      Conducts   investiga­tions or inquests of the causes of sudden deaths which have not been   satisfactorily explained and when there is   suspicion that the cause arose from unlawful acts or commission of other persons or from foul play;

3)      Institute and prose­cute in the City’s interest a suit in any bond, lease, or other contract, and upon breach violation thereof, and prose­cute and defend all civil actions related or connected with any city Office when its interest is at stake;

4)      Render such profes­sional legal services as the City Mayor or Sangguniang Panglungsod may require and perform such duties as may be prescribed by law;

5)      Discharge such motions as the Minister of Justice may assign or delegate;

6)      Act as Tanodbayan Prosecutor upon being deputized by the Tanodbayan with the approval    of the President;

7)      Perform such   func­tions as the Office of the Solicitor General may desig­nate;

8)      Act as Chief Legal Adviser of the City in the absence of the City Legal Officer; and

9)      Supervise prosecution as well as administrative functions of the law department of Pagadian City.
